Retirees of Qwest/CenturyLink

In 1995, CWA bargained a new position titled Health Benefits Coordinator.  Health Benefit Coordinators purpose is to assist bargained for employees in the event they have problems with their health care benefits or short-term disability.  The HBC’s are trained on processes and procedures and develop contacts with the various vendors and providers.  They can quickly resolve issues and bring peace of mind to members that have problems.

The Health Benefit Coordinators are appointed by CWA leadership.

Effective December 8, 2014, Ryan Weeks is our new Health Benefits Coordinator servicing legacy Qwest CWA and IBEW 206 employees and retirees. Ryan recently worked as a Screening Consultant in Boise, ID and he also served as the Executive Vice President for Local 7603.

There was a Tentative Agreement reached at Legacy Qwest/Centurylink. Only topics were healthcare and wages in this early bargaining. From what I read and heard nothing changes for retirees. This is a 3 year contract until April 2023. The HRA is intact for retirees on the CDHP (pre-Medicare) and Medicare retirees. What I do not know is the cost of the Pre Medicare HC premiums. The locals have a month to go over the language and get their votes back to District 7.
